Explore the safety aspects of using fire in a laboratory environment. Discover how fire is made and put out, then test its effects on chemicals.
During this workshop learners will:
- Explore the effects and chemicals that start and impact fires, while learning safety measures related to a laboratory environment.
- Be introduced to personal protection equipment (PPE) when in a laboratory environment.
- Learn about how fires are started and are introduced to fire triangles.
- The session also gives opportunities to use Bunsen Burners in groups within a safe environment.
Our trained presenter will demonstrate the effects different chemicals have on the colour of a flame and then to finish the workshop off, the group will learn how to put out a fire safely using household items.
