The sessions allow learners to better their skills needed for chemistry lab lessons and builds confidence to follow instructions and safety measures in the laboratory. Learners are given a list of instructions on how to conduct the experiment and then conduct this experiment using the science equipment that would be used in secondary school
The aim of the experiment will focus on whether an unknown substance is acid, alkali or neutral. The workshop introduces to how the pH scale works.
This activity can be extended to identify unknown powders.
