Join us for some forest fun and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones in the woods. Our Stay and Play sessions are perfect for families looking to get out and experience the wonders of nature.

Led by our fully qualified forest school leaders, each session is a chance to explore the amazing woodlands, experience nature, and join in with the themed activities. No two sessions are ever the same and will include a variety of activities such as crafts, games, stories, den building, scavenger hunts and pond dipping. All sessions include a drink and a snack around the campfire.

Please dress for the outdoor, forest environment. Everyone will need to wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, with a long-sleeved top and trousers. Please bring waterproofs, sun cream and additional warm layers as appropriate on the day.

The forest site is a 5-minute walk from the car park at Wrexham University Northop campus, CH7 6AA. The walk is suitable for pushchairs and is wheelchair accessible. Please let us know about any reduced physical abilities or additional learning needs when booking.

Each session is £10 a child, with accompanying adults £3, plus get 10% off with an Xplore annual pass!

All events are non-transferable and non-refundable. Events will go ahead in all weathers, except for high winds or extreme temperatures.  If we do cancel the session, we will contact you, and a full refund will be given.

Spring

👣️Step into spring and feel the changing of the seasons as we observe the returning light to the world. This season we embrace the fresh new growth of young plants, baby animals, and the rising sun!

🌱Discover what is waking in the world on our nature walk. Plant a choice of herbs or flowers to take home in readiness for the coming sun. Using traditional crafts create a Brigid cross or dolly or wool-based woven item. Top it all off with delicious pancakes warmed on the campfire.
